You’ve heard your whole life that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Although I’d personally suggest all meals are important, kicking off the day with breakfast is definitely key! Aside from data on breakfast-eating being an important component of long-term weight loss, my clients who start eating breakfast regularly cite feeling more energized and productive during the day. That being said, one question I receive frequently on social media is… “But what do I eat for breakfast if I don’t like eggs?” Well, I’ve answered this question with 30 healthy breakfasts not centered around eggs dietitians love!
30 Breakfast Ideas that Aren’t Eggs
True, I tend to post a lot of breakfast meals on Instagram including eggs, but I promise it’s not the only option! I’ve selected recipes that still provide ample protein (or could easily provide it by using cow’s milk or soymilk, sorry if you’re just learning almond and rice milk don’t provide protein!) because protein is so important to trigger satiety signals. Others use more unique sources of protein like chia seeds, kefir and one other ingredient you won’t ever guess – and believe me you want to try these! Most of these breakfast ideas are gluten-free and many are or can be made vegan. Some do include eggs in the recipe but they are far from an “egg-breakfast.”
Oats
Oats are, of course, a popular breakfast hit. Loaded with fiber, nutrients, and requiring little prep or cook time, oats should definitely be a part of your breakfast routine!
